Hi :) for my birthday I'd like nothing more than to book as many of my friends as possible. which makes consequential -- inevitable, even -- the need for a TALENT SHOW !!! (and of course a FREQSHOW to follow) (There will be prizes...categories tbd. "Most brave" will be one of them though.)
The party is free for all, but we suggest a $10 donation to the Bay Area Immigration Bond Fund (now a part of Norcal Resist). The Bond Fund supports the rights of detained individuals by raising money to help them post bond, secure their release, and support their right to remain in their homes. "How do I get there?"
For SF folks: there is an Eastbound freeway closure onto I-80 this entire weekend!! What this means: you should BART over to 12th St Oakland and walk over to the Elbo Room Jack London (a 10 min walk). From the 24th Mission stop the total travel time is 30 min. The highway closure is only Eastbound, so if you'd like to ride share back into the city at night, you'll be unaffected by the closure.
"Can I come late to the Talent Show?"
We'd appreciate those coming for the talent show to come early (around 8pm) to get settled and grab a drink before the acts. If entering during the talent show (8-10pm) please be mindful that an act may be occurring, so come up the stairs quietly and preferably in between acts :)
